Kentwood Listing Featured in USA Today Article on
A recent USA Today article on Aurora, Colorado, titled “Close to Home: Aurora Boasts Some Sales Bargains,” cited home prices as a major benefit of living in Aurora. The feature story also highlighted an Aurora home listed by Bill Wilbur, a broker associate in Kentwood Real Estate’s DTC office.
Located at 6225 South Fraser, the USA Today article said the home is the most expensive in the Aurora and Centennial area at $12,250,000. Offered for sale by The Grove Family Partnership, the home includes seven bedrooms, eight baths, and 9,168 finished square feet. The equestrian estate borders a private golf course and Cherry Creek State Park. The Nantucket shingle-style home showcases spectacular gardens, stunning mountain views, and a gated entry with complete perimeter fencing.
The Wilbur listing includes 33.5 acres, a 15-stall barn, a foaling barn, indoor arena, plus a guest house. Built in 1998, the home also offers a four-car garage, a carriage house, covered patio, and deck. This spectacular home features all the bells and whistles one would expect in a $12 million home, including a gourmet kitchen, fabulous great room, and a luxurious master suite and bath.
The USA Today article said that Aurora has benefited from the first-time buyer federal tax credit. Authored by Christine Dugas of USA Today and published on February 16th, Dugas said that Aurora’s core neighborhoods offer modest homes built in the 1940’s and 1950’s. Aurora’s median sales price in December jumped 10.6 percent from December a year ago, and home foreclosures have slowed, which pushed prices up, as did a reduction in home inventory because of brisk fall sales, according to the article.
The article also said that Aurora gets some stability from Buckley Air Force Base and a Raytheon facility, plus the Anschutz Medical Campus. Other benefits cited included numerous parks, green spaces, cycling and walking trails, and many revitalized neighborhoods.
