The Rocky Mountain Relocation Council’s (RMRC) board of directors gathered for its annual holiday luncheon on December 3rd in Denver.  This year, the event was wrapped in the spirit of giving as the council’s Charitable Causes Committee invited personnel from the U.S. Marines’ Marine Air Control Squadron 23 from Buckley Air Force Base in Aurora to join the board’s holiday tradition.  The squadron accepted a large quantity of new, unwrapped toys in support of the 2009 U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Campaign.

The toys were donated by RMRC members at different council events throughout November and December 2009.  The RMRC board, accompanied by Sergeant Melody Gentry and Sergeant Colin Gordon takes a moment to gather around some of the toys that will be handed out by the Marines to needy boys and girls as Christmas gifts within local Colorado communities.

“As a result of the economic situation, this has been a particularly difficult time as the amount of toys donated this year is significantly less than in previous years,” said Sergeant Gentry.  “We are so grateful for organizations like Rocky Mountain Relocation for putting on this wonderful effort and event.”

Rick Willard of Wells Fargo and president of RMRC, offered his thanks to all of the RMRC members and the Marines.

“We, as an organization, are humbled to be able to help bring a message of hope to less fortunate children within our local community, as well as allowing many to experience the joy of Christmas.”
