Kentwood’s Paula King, Town of Erie Highlighted in Denver Post Front Page Feature
Denver Real Estate – Paula King, a leading broker associate with The Kentwood Company at Cherry Creek, was recently featured in a front page article of the Denver Post’s real estate section on December 13, 2009. The feature, written by Mark Samuelson, highlighted the town of Erie, Mayor Andrew Moore, homebuilders Kat and Kirk Velarde, and a recent listing of King’s in the Erie Village neighborhood, a community of approximately 200 homes and 50 homesites currently slated for development.
“I live in Erie Village where architectural restrictions keep the homes unique,” said King. “The homes all have character and front porches are required. Most homes are either Victorian or Craftsman style and there is a wide variety of colors. Erie Village showcases mountain views and there are three pocket parks. On one recent Friday, Santa visited the neighborhood and collected unwrapped toys for donation to the Optimist Club, which is an annual ritual.”
King’s listing in the Post article is located at 1306 Allen Avenue, a unique ranch with approximately 2,700 square feet on the main level and a full finished basement for a total of more than 5,000 finished square feet. Other key elements of the article highlighted the many attributes of Erie, including the new recreation center, library and park. Mayor Moore was interviewed for the feature and the overall article helped bring exceptional traffic to King’s open house, especially when considering that the open house was held during a recent Bronco’s game.
“The owners of the home, Kat and Kirk Velarde, had the house nicely decked out for Christmas and visitors enjoyed fresh baked cookies and hot apple cider,” said King. “We had between 15 and 20 groups. Some visitors were carrying the article. I have been in this business since 1976 and have never been busier, so there are signs of market recovery on the horizon. I have five closings scheduled from December 15th through January 7th.”
Samuelson’s article can be found on page 1R of the Sunday, December 13, 2009 real estate section of the Denver Post.
